Root canal treatment at GD Smile Studio in Istanbul

Root Canal Treatment in Turkey

Root canal treatment clears infection from inside a tooth, relieves pain, and saves the natural tooth from extraction. Unlike cosmetic treatments, this is a restorative procedure focused on keeping your own tooth healthy — often followed by a crown to protect it.

At GD Smile Studio in Istanbul, root canals use modern anaesthesia and rotary techniques for a comfortable, pain-free experience, for UK and European patients, with savings of up to 70% versus the UK.

What is root canal treatment?

A root canal is needed when the pulp inside the tooth becomes infected or inflamed, due to deep decay, a crack, trauma or previous dental work. The treatment removes the infected tissue, disinfects and seals the canal, and restores the tooth — usually with a filling or a crown.

A root canal saves your own tooth. If a tooth can’t be saved, the alternative is replacement with a dental implant; a treated tooth is often capped with a crown.

Root canal frequently asked questions

The basics

What is a root canal and when is it needed?
It removes the infected nerve tissue inside the tooth and cleans the canals — usually needed for a deep cavity, a tooth fracture, or a pulp infection.
What problems does it solve?
Deep cavities, pulp (nerve) infection, an abscess at the root, or damage inside a cracked or fractured tooth.
Can it prevent tooth loss?
Yes — it’s designed to save the natural tooth and avoid extraction.

Comfort & timing

Is it painful?
No — with local anaesthesia the procedure is pain-free, and it relieves the pain the infection was causing.
How many sessions does it take?
It’s usually completed in 2 sessions.
